Well got a bit of the old carb ice going since the days over here are hoving around zero. The manfiold sticks out in the airflow. I was thinking of some sort of 12v heater to keep it from icing up. Anybody have any smart ideas?

Some OE stuff uses a heater in the manifold to stop this happening, early VW Polo's for one, may be worth some investigation?

It is an electric powered heater, it sits in the manifold in the airflow, it has a series of "pins" that stick up into the airflow to give more surface area.

Otherwise maybe you could attach a pipe to the inlet manifold and run hot coolant through it to stop the carb icing?
