I'm trying to decide on the best airport to fly out of - I'm running to a tight schedule, so need to know what you guys think.

I'd be leaving leamington at 4pm, and the heathrow flight is at 8:30, the Manchester one at 7:30.
I'm thinking the heathrow one is definately looking like the best option, but what's the M40 like at 5-ish on a typical weekday?

Multimap says it's 88miles and 1hr 30 mins - but that sounds REALLY optimistic LOL!

Thoughts?

Somewhere around Swindon

M40 i have found is problimatic round the 3 junctions near oxford usually due to some sort of roadworks

M40 is shit these days

Infact, traffic is realy shit everywhere, you can no longer say a journey will take X amount of time.

Its that bad.

Near Daventry, midlands

i have to agree and therefor cant be much help, traffic here, midlands northamptonshire/bucks has literally (i really mean this) doubled in the last 2-3 years. Last time i headed down the m40 around that time was 4 months ago and it was reasonably sain, though i dont know about roadworks, it would appear to me to be a better option (later traveling is better anyhow)

It only realy snarls up on the Oxford juntion(9) in the morning, but there are road works in that area at the moment...

M40 and a few juntions around the M25 and you are there in theory....
