removing my clutch today. and my brand new flywheel puller centre bolt snapped.

it was only me using it so no excessive force was being used.

this has left me with the bolt in the clutch with no head on it :(

i have had the tool 6 days and this was the first time i used it. i got it from a well known mini supplier.

will this leave me with the job of removing the gearbox etc etc to remove it? or do i have the right to complain?

Many thanks

A poor and dis-heartened Andy

if the tool breakes that was intended for the job then it is at fault, get a refund or a new one

how has the center bolt stuck in the clutch? it doesnt screw into anything? it should have a washer on it that buts up onto the crank not screws into it. thats if im thinking of the right bolt.*indifferent*

Near Daventry, midlands

take it back striaght away, its not even worth thinking about. Some of the pullers sold by the shops are made out of crudite and are not up to the job.

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

mate, you havent forced the actual puller bolt down the crank thread have you?

if so thats why it will have seized and snapped, and if the threads kaput, then it might be new crank time :(
