Hi!

I have bought a set of cast iron Turbo valve guides (ABR51115) from Avonbar.
The exhaust guides seems to be inlet guides drilled to take the exhaust valves, the inside surface is much rougher than the inlet guides.
Also the exhaust guides are more bullet shaped than the original guides, so there are less surface to transfer the heat from the guide to the head.
Is it safe to use these guides, anybody had any problems with these!?
I dont want to drop another valve (which is the reason for the current rebuild)!

Have a nice day!

You should always ream the guides to suit after fitting into the head Jonas.
You are aware that MiniWilliams sells the same thing on Ebay for a lot less than places like avonbar charge???

According to Avonbar there is no need to ream the cast iron guides, maybe I should do it anyway (dont think any material will be removed since its allready the right size)?
Didnt know about MiniWilliams *frown*

Avonbar are shite thou...

for example retro fitting rear disks on to a scirocco you can use std handbrake cables... which is wrong LOL utterly, they are 6" too short.

Best ignor their advice IMO.
