Is there any technial issues with different engine paint colours?

I'm tempted to paint my gearbox and transfercase black... any thoughts?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

dont use fancy engine paint that costs a fortune!

just use normal house hold gloss

2 coats let it dry a day between coats
i seem to get better results using the jelly paint for some reason ?

make sure the its de greased well !

if you want the ultimate finish
use red oxide paint as a prima first then 2 coats as mentioned above

good luck lets have some pics when finished

I didn't think it was a good idea to paint the gearbox in anything other than paint that contains aluminium. In my mind it will otherwise reduce the effective heat transfer resulting in hotter oil????.

Maybe not as much as i think though, but we use a special aluminium rich paint at work for stuff like that, keeps the heat transfer up, but we are talking large heat rejection areas rather than a small gearbox.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
