At the weekend we got opulled up by the scrutineers for having the exhaust in the boot where the fueltank is, he said it was a fire risk especially during a rear-end smash. We argued that fuel would not ignite on the exhaust, but he was having none of it.

Rather than argue the toss with a scrutineer (pointless exercise usually, I have tried it before, and they are normally the most pigheaded human beings in existance) could you not just make up a lightweight ally guard to box in the section of exhaust that is in the boot area?

I know what you're saying Tom. And I have a feeling it will come to this, but it's a pain in the arse and I'm fucked off with the whole thing at the moment and still want to prove a point. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

i agree about the back box not reaching petrols flash point temperature, but the manifold definately could.

I bet the "petrol BBQ extinguisher" went down like a cup of cold sick but I would have loved to have seen his face LOL!!!! HAHAHAHA thats a great mental image Its all a laod of toss though, even if u do cover it, in a smash theres no garantee the cover wont come off or split etc... Give him both barrels, everyone knows its not going to ignite. I've seen the future and tbh its Pie
