Is there any way of stopping the rod change selector point on the gearbox as mine has quite a serious leak! Have change the small pound size seal but its made no difference. The only thing i have noticed is that i can get two of the seals into the casting, is there something missing.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

The easy way to sort this is to fit "two" seals!*wink*

the first one the right way round full in and the second one the wrong way around to stop ingress of dirt.

make sure its free from oil and dirt using say white spirit after you have drained the oil

and then use some sealent around the out side of the seals befor fitment.

the above applies if the engine is in

if not engine is out, you would remove the diff cover and replace the inner ally locater with the small O ring and then a new seal

its a small kit available from minispares for around a fiver

oh! and do let the sealent set over night if poss before you refill it with oil.

this then will be put to bed

take your time and keep us posted *happy*

That's why you fit the small rubber gaiter :)

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I've used that minispares kit,

the spacer make a real difference, stops the ear change moving about so oil can get out.
