well this must be the most shagged box i ve ever took apart ( standard that is).
1. main shaft bearing has been craked not only around the outer race but across it as well, the inner has split were the locater tangs hold the two inner races together, cage total shagged ( what a suprise) this is the worst main bearing ive ever seen.

2. the above has caused the first motion shaft nose bearing to totaly disintagrate to bits (never seen one this bad before).

3. outboard output shaft is sloopy as shit ( but havnt finished taking diff to bits yet so may be just the bush ( new cross pin diff being fitted).

4.2nd gear syncro dog teeth totaly trashed

5. main shaft is knacked through the nose bearing breaking up.

6. 3 out of the 4 baulk ring are well worn out.

the plus point are both syncro's are good , the lay shaft is spot on, hopefully after a measure the selector forks look ok, the box casing looks ok, diff bearings look in top notch, so not all bad.



but most bits i would say all stemed from main bearing failure a long time ok.

he sorted me a mainshaft out

sored the end out where the nose bearing sits

bulit it up with tungsten & ground it back down

beer tokens of course

i have got all the bits if he wants but his puter is down so will have to ring him

its not all bad all the essential bits are ok, he can have a good main shaft, 2nd gear, and input for £20.

i'm sure its nothing to do with the way i drive it!!!
