could someone please explain the differance between inter coolers and chargecoolers?

A intercooler is air/air and a Chargecooler is water/air :) www.shag.no |

The only problem with the chargcooler as I see it is the weight penalty. Probably not to much of a worry on a road car though. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

Lotus used chargecoolers on the esprits, so if all else fails, esp the late s4 esprits used 2 small chargecoolers on the twin turbo v8s. |

Here , here to Pete. Just to add what i have heard, and that is that intercoolers come into there own from 100 mph+ where the air going over them is huge. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph
