As some o you know i'm putting together a tuned n/a engine atm (1292, AGSP cam, Stg4 head, Weber 45 etc) but i'm building it in such a way that i can bolt a turbo on in the future (granted i need to mod the head and change the cam etc).

But my question is what oil pump to go for, i'm tempted to get the turbo one and an adjustable pressure thingies, but what do you guys think?

im using a turbo one on my rally car, 1380, 649, 45 etc.

granted its not really needed, and is probably gonna cost me a small amount of power, but ive got a labyrinth of oil cooler bits and bobs and i had it lying about, so in effect it was free.

The Avonbar Turbo pump is the one to go for.

better to be safe than sorry. i'm a big believer of the turbo pumps. they can handle a lot more oil, which after all, keeps our motors turning!!

balls to the blower!!!

All i can say is go for a "standard" steel back non turbo pump. That has more then enough oil for a turbo. I have run a couple of years with such a pump with NO extra wear on any thing........if any thing it was less!

i seconded that willie i use the same £14 ae steel backed oil pump and work well and seam to wear better than the turbo ones ive used before and seam to give consistant oil pressure readings when hot unlike the turbo ones.

i think its all down to port design on the pumps

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas
