just need some help, just put engine in car luckely just box and block, i can select all gears eg can feel them engaging but cant get the box in neatural, eg engine always turning, when i select reverse it locks up, i did change the final drive before i put the engine in the car, have i messes the gear selecter shaft thingy up eg not lined it all up propperly, what do you think cheers

sounds to me like the selector could be mislodged against the outer part and is not properly disengaging gears when another is selected, hence locking up the box. u might be able to fix it by disconnecting the selector and using some pliers to align the set, might help if u have a second box next to you to work out whats going on. other than that its a engine out diff off job.

well all apart, and have had a look at the box scratched my head for an hour, with another box next to me to look at, well for future referance it was 1st and 2nd syncro hub binding, lots of oil and a bar on the end of the first motion nut and it turns better now thank god for that, just got to put it all back in again "Can I legally marry people now that I am ordained in the Church of the SubGenius?" aka i know jack sh"t

before you get to carried away have you put oil in the box as the baulk rings will grab if not and will give you the cause of locking up but realy there is nothing wrong, always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |
