You need to stop the flywheel turning by putting the end of a large flathead screwdriver into the teeth of the ringear on the flywheel. Poke the screwdriver through the hole the starter goes through, and rest it on the body of the transfer casing.
Hope you can understand this ? Have you not got a haynes manual ? it explains it all in there.

loosing the flywheel can turn in a nightmare.......
when you 'll have undoed the flywheel bolt, you'll have to loosen the flywheel from the crank, for this be patient and before to put any strengh on the flywheel verify 10 time that your puller is truely parallel with the flywheel, then go very slow in strenghing the puller when you'll feel a real resistance, a good hammer push on the end of the puller will cause the "clac", flywheel loosen ; if it is not coming as this, good luck, I sometimes had to heat the flyheel to red , and one time to completely cut the flywheel.... before this try again the first procedure two or threee times :).

you could buy one of my super duper flywheel locking tools which you bolt to the engine making easy work of it.
