Alright lads i wondered if anyone can help me i have a pug 205 1.9 GTI and i have striped the engine out of my mini and i was wondering if you can fit the 205 engine in and if so do have to extend the front bearing in mind if i decide to turbo it? Just a quick question to just see if anyone knows if u can fit it before i go to the trouble of pulling it out cos i haven't heard of anyone putting pug engine in but maybe some of you lad who go to all these shows might of many thanks

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

anything’s possible! ............but ...*blush*

for get it in my opinion
my son has one and he kept harping on about how fast it is, anyway he challenged me

so a raced him on a short stretch of road around half a mile...anyway
the difference was unbelievable. I "completely destroyed him"

he may as well been in a “milk float”, *laughing**laughing**laughing*
the embarrassment for him was too much to take

now he’s angling for a mini and selling up

you just cant beat the A series …and that’s it!

anythings possible, but i tend to agree with benross. if i were going to do it id put it in the back.

unless your a competent mechanic, engineer, fabricater etc then i rekon youd struggle it ( ok i might be exagerating there) but the work involved would be immense.

just think of the work youd have to fabricate engine mounts, drive shafts, etc etc

forget it in imho*smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

plus the 205 engine and box combo is quite a wide engine that is angled, its not going to be neat, and in my opinion better engines are out there

Mini Mag Oct 2000 has a rather nice pug powered Mini on the cover, and IMHO an even nicer turbo towards that back.

That one in mini mag had the rad in the boot floor as the install was so tight. He had to have the boot open a bit for airflow to the rad. I think the track was way wide at the front too to incorperate the drives etc. Definately smaller, more powerful engines out there better suited.

But lighter? The MI16 engine is brilliant, and VERY light.

Rare as hell, I think it is only 4-5 405 T16's in Norway, and only produced 5-600 in total. My engine came from Sweden (90-100 T16's in Sweden), it was orginal with 200 bhp (220 in 45 sec overboost), but the crankshaft was destroyed so I never put it in to a car. Sold it for the same money I gave for it :)

Jeah, I know. But when I got the engine my 405 was my only working car, and I was restoring my house, so the engine was just sitting in my parents garage. I sold it to buy a 1275 S-engine for my mkI.
