Wasn't sure where to post this but 'Wanted' seems sensible;

Now I have a digital speedo I could do with removing the 'original' drive cable for the speedo. It's been a while since I stripped a 'box but I'm guessing just unscrewing the speedo drive from the 'box will leave a nice oil out/dirt in hole in the casing. Does anyone know of a 'threaded cap' that may be available, or even some info. on the casing thread to have something made up locally.

Many thanks,

Pottsy.

The spedo drive is held in a bit like an A+ dizzy, i.e. it has a little forked clamp.

Once you have removed all the spedo drive (you can get rid of the internal drive too if you want) all you have to do is make a teardrop shaped piece of alloy with a hole in and use the clamp to fix it in place. A drop of sealeant will stop it leaking.

Excellent! Makes a pleasent change when a job that was potentially tricky turns out to be nice and easy!

Cheers Wil.
