surely a class D contender 10 years ago. acording to the article has 175bhp. Also according to the article it had a Group A dump valve whos function was "to keep the boost pressure up, and the turbo spinning, before dumping excess pressure through the wastegate" Genius.

Great looking car though, wonder what happened to it.

Ah yes, I remember Paul whiffin, he used to serve me sometimes at MS potters bar,

the car was parked outside one time I went up there, pretty nice motor.

Looking back I doubt this car had the stated power, Mainly because I'm sure it didnt run an intercooler.

ok .. paul sold it without or with the all singing and dancing motor in it ,i can`t remeber ,paul was pretty well in with stu gurr at the time i think , a bloke bought it a came along to santa pod , minishow down used to be there for the kids amongst you , he was about 1.5 secs slower than paul was in the car .After that i never heard from him , but i heard the turbo came out and it went to N/A but that was a long time ago .

Everyone knows that instructions only have to be read if the thing doesn't work....

Really, I could have sworn it didnt have an intercooler.

also when i say Potters Bar, it was actually when they were still in Frien Barnet,

Simon at MS used to have a nice Metty turbo about that time too,

I might still have that issue too, i'll have a look tonight for nostalga's sake!!

Lake District

Yes Paul Whiffin, this is the company he now runs - he used to have the Mini featured on the site, but he seems to have changed it now.

It didn't have an intercooler to begin with, then he fitted one. It also had a claimed 225hp at 25psi in it's last "guise".

Some of the early spec and claims are funny!

Stu Gurr's name crops up a few time *happy*
