Although its not much help with turbo engines, but does anyone know of a good resource for getting information on engine numbers? Theres some information on the old miniclassic site, TMF also has a good guide and theres a pdf flaoting around aswell. However none give really definative guides as to what the engine numbers correspond too unlike mr calver and the rest who seem to be able to give out the information like its going out of fashion??

I must be missing something? Anyone?

I've seen the future and tbh its Pie

i just always use the pdf on the IME... click www.ime.org.uk and search 'engine numbers' and it'll give the pdf file with all the numbers, it is a bit vague though tbh.

I've tried searching, nothing much comes up, but im sure there is more information available. I've seen people pick out what each character, after the 99h/12h part, means in terms of piston type final drive etc. This information must be somewhere!!!

The pdf on IME was the first one i found, but like you say its vauge. The metro list is a good find, but again doesnt give much info.

It must be somewhere !!
