You should be using the turbo oil pump which is approx 10mm fatter,so higher flow rate(well enougth to supply engine and turbo)

JUST A QUICK ONE: IN GOOD OLD SUNNY SOUTH AFRICA TURBO OIL PUMPS CANNOT BE HAD. A COUPLE OF LOCAL MINIS HAD TURBO FAILURE DUE TO LOW FLOW RATES (OR SO I'M TOLD) IS THERE A WAY PAST USING THE TURBO OILPUMP? MY MINI IS 90% DONE BUT I DONT WANT BROKEN TURBOS. WOULD IT HELP AT ALL TO MODIFY THE PRESSURE REGULATER. (SO LESS OIL BYPASSES) DUNNO? |

I'd be VERY surprised if a stock (Factory) nat-asp oil pump didn't have enough reserve to cope with a turbo oil feed - in fact - I'd almost GUARANTEE there is enough reserve...

I used a standard rate 998 pump on the TT for years, always seemed fine.
Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

looks like some good news then. i built the motor with good pump so i might get lucky. i'll still use big dia supply & even bigger return line. think i should put a oilpressure guage on turbo supply line & see what happens. |
