hi guys
ive been measuring the float on my the idler gear and its
0.023"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bit of a problem even if i used the thickest shims it still leaves me with 0.009"

i cant seem to find new ones anywhere
so any about?

try a different gasket first, these can be found for little money, infact if your stuck u can have one off me (std one not turbo as i dont have any)

Yes, mic up your gasket, you may find this is your problem.

Also do a search, there was a discussion about this subject at some point.

if all else fails would it not be easier to skim the face off the housing???

just an update,
i faced the surface of the housing that was worn (around the idler gear) and then skimed the face of the housing.
its all shimed and seems fine,
