Got mini running quite well now, almost ready for rolling road.

I have a problem though, i dont have a outlet on my turbo, and someone suggested connecting the bleed valve betweeen the actuator and the plenum. With a straight pipe, or a bleed valve/MBC fully off it boosts niceley at 4psi, but if i try to bleed off anything at all the car tries to cut out. Im wondering if this is because its leaning off the petrol because the pressure regulator also gets its signal from the plenum.

Is there any way to solve it, mabe using one way valves or anything? Im a bit baffled of how it works.

Otherwise, is it ok to wind my actuator a bit to get 7 or 8psi

The best place to get the signal for the actuator is from the plenum and I can't see why you are having problems.

I have 2 outlets on my plenum, one for the actuator and one for the fuel pressure regulator and it works fine.

Using the same outlet might cause problems. If you only have one outlet make sure the T-piece for the two signals is as close to the Plenum as possible and that the bleed valve is as close to the actuator as possible. But best to have two outlets

thanks will, t piece is very close. Bleed valve is in car though, also tried MBC but no difference, i think it might be because im using Dave's T piece trick too. It wont run properly without it though

if it all checks out and you still have the problem you can give the actuator a bit more preload and get more boost. i have done it to gain a couple of psi but i dont know how stable the pressure is if you try any more.

the basic answer would be to try it and watch the boost gauge. i would think it will work fine to a point then one of several options.

1 it could get to a point that shortening the rod makes no more increase in boost

2 the boost pressure becomes unstable leading to possible major over boost if taken way to far

your problem could also be a defective pressure regulator?

good luck
