Hi

How much force is needed to push the clutchplunger (release the clutch)? kgs, lbs or N is okay:). Im not talking pedal force, but force needed to push the plunger, or eventually how much force the slave puts out.

could it be THAT much?? thinking about it, wouldnt the three bolts between the spring and the backplate be forced to hold all that force all the time then?

well I guess TD the expert on this as he's been looking at clutch designs

but also on marcel Chichak website there's some load graphs which are worth a look. try this link

http://www.starchak.ca/

But I'm pretty sure thats the right kind of range

also i think i got some of those figures from des hamils "tuning the A series" book

the effort needed at the slave end of the clutch arm will of course be less (1/5th ish?)

also with the clutch set up "properly" the 1200lb (or whatever it is) will be the initial load, as the diapham plate spring distorts the load will drop significantly.

Yes, I have to meassure a clutch arm to see the ratio, but I guess it will be around 7:1. Also I will have to meassure the throw on the slave (guesstimated to around 3-4 cm) before I can replace the slave with another...
