Decided yesterday that my intercooler wasn't in the best place, cos I was running a Metro rad.

So I ripped it out and re-routed my intercooler.

I now need to revert back to a side rad, and was thinking about the 2 core minispares one.
Are these any good, or is there better for similar money?

When I ran a Std. mini rad before, it tended to get way too hot on the moterway when giving it some.
The rad was old though, so might have been blocked even though I flushed it for ages.

i run the minispares 2 core rad, and have had no problems with it at all. my engine is in fairly mild state of tune at the moment, std boost, std head etc, so i dont know how they cope on a high output turbo engine. best off hearing advice from the faster boys

Hi Gibbo!

I also have the front Metro Rad and the intercooler sideways - but I made a nice duct to the intercooler to ensure good flow! Even in very hot summer temperatures seldom I have more than 80?C water temp.! And never exceeded 40?C inlet temp in the plenum on a 30?C day!

Yeah, I thought of ducting it, but things were starting to look messy.
I've got a removable front on my car, so even though it seem easy to fit stuff, you end up with loads of strange brackets to make it fit.

Plus if I want to increace my intercooler size in future, I don't think it would be possible.

I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of your setup though, always nice to see how others do things.

Gibbo, I asked Jim to post a picture because I can't do it on my computer! Have a look!
The intercooler is from an Alfa 164 Turbo and should be good for 200hp (A Corky Bell Calc.)

Yes Fab, and with a duct you can go down with the air inlet area to 1/4 of the core area and it is still more efficient than just have the IC standind direct in the air flow!
