I'd use MJ as there's a lot of maps out there to get you started.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Megajolt has been around for years now. It's proven and I very much doubt it is going anywhere. Nodiz, whilst it 'could' be a fantastic product still has a reputation to build.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I am going to go with nodiz when I get the money. The reason being that there is less hardware (no edis) and more features as standard. You can control it from an android phone wirelessly and can also use the phone to display a digital dash, and things like a rev limiter and other features are built in as standard. On the down side people have less experiance with it than megajolt, and I think it works out more expensive, although there is not much in it price wise if you are buying brand new.

As above MJ works! Nodiz looks the same tbh from the software side of things. However not having used the Nodiz yet i've no idea how it performs. The main plus for me was the air intake/water temp plugs and the dash app; oh and the loss of edis.

Time will tell and im just a sucker for new tech stuff :)

The Nodiz does look like a nice piece of kit and with some nice features.

If I was building a car that required Dizzyless Ig, Id have a stab with the Nodiz, having said that the mjlj works on mine and is well proven.

1/4 Mile 14.3secs 96Mph Terminal 10psi of boost.

gonna be waiting a while. no one as yet has fitted the nodiz to a mini that im aware of yet. people have them but like me are mid build i guess.

If you can pick up a MJ cheap enough then you cant lose really as there is plenty of maps etc and people now it.

Really does depend what you want and if you will use its extra feature!

plus its black, stealth baby!!

I think unless you have seen what comes in the Nodiz box you cant really comment on the simple side of things. If anything from the looks of it its simpler, comes with plug already wired, no edis so really all you have to do is wire up the coil and the VR sensor. All of which is explained in the overly simple manual.

Not saying the MJ isnt simple but out of the box the Nodiz looks much more user friendly; the working part i've yet to review :)

no need to sell it to me im never going to buy one *happy*
my opinion after having built 2 surface mount versions and modified 1 mjlj for benny, the mjlj's are ridiculously simple there is nothing there to go wrong
everything that could go wrong is available from the scrapyard for pennies

not so in the case of nodiz

and thats not the opinion of someone who bums mj for all its worth, 'cos i dont run one of them either....

I'm far from trying to sell you one mate, i couldn't give a donkey gonads what you run :) as it doesnt benefit my pocket one bit!

But the Nodiz is in the exact same case as the MJ the only difference is interfaces etc and lack of edis. I've run MJ on 2 of my cars and they are good. I was merely pointing out that i've owned and installed 2 MJ in my cars and now i own a Nodiz; so i'm telling you the Nodiz is a simpler system out of the box to install purely because what comes with as standard.

How it is to use i cannot comment on that as my engine is in pieces; this is just my opinion im not selling the product but im just answering the OP question. And having owned both, i think i can qualify for a very valid opinion on the matter.

So you will be aware that in 2007 they threatened legal action against this forum?

without being pedantic paul im sure if it was of that grave concern someone would have mentioned it on the group buy and i'd have shut it down if it was an issue.

my research consisted of discussing the product with Matt and back in 07 i was only a spring bean and tbh lifes to short to hold grudges and like i said It wasn't mentioned so i guess everyone else had moved on.

Edit:
just did a google on them and they do appear to have a few issues back in 07 about rep etc (cant find the issue you speak off); however i found a post from Matt.
There was some history (over 5 years ago!) when I had friend building the ECUs, long story short... not good! Anyway, our V4 is ISO9001 robotivcally assembled, 2 year warrenty etc etc.

Make of it what you will but i've spoken to Matt and he seems like a very genuine, helpful guy

Brett,

Not sure what point you are trying to make really? The name Nodiz is in reference to not requiring a distributor, i.e - NO DIZZY.... And in terms of EDIS in scrap yards for pennies, I havent' seen a Mk3 Fiesta in any local breakers for years!

We (motorsport electronics ltd) designed the Nodiz from the ground up to help those who want a real straightforward approach.

So, using your logic, if you are favouring an ignition controller on simplicity, then the NODIZ wins hands down due to simply LESS wiring and less external componentry, and in terms of 'works', well I can assure you the 6 months we spent testing it, and the amount of miles us and our customers and beta testers have clocked up, that it too satisfies that requirement, and I am looking forward to more feedback from the field as I enjoy adding features and requests. The Android digital dash was something I did as a technical challenge as we were already using Bluetooth for comms, and from there it just sort of came about, now its one of the more 'wow' factors of the NODIZ... I had one guy call up to order one, not wanted to actually run ignition control, just wanting the dash! Random!

Its 'laptop free' if you want it be as we can preload a map for you and once you it wired in (the miminal 2D isnatll is just 5 connections!) you can use the buttons on the unit itself to setup the crank angle (ie you dont need it bang on 90* like EDIS) as well as calibrate your TPS, so there's no need for a laptop at all. And in terms of maps, I am in the process creating an app to you let you translate a Megajolt map for the NODIZ. This of course means interpolating as MJs 12x12 table needs to be scaled up to 16x16 for the NODIZ, but again, no real hassle...

Oh, in car vid of the Nodiz in action, courtesy of one of our distributors, Chester Sports Cars...

Cheers,
Matt

I would not touch anything associated with mtech with a 10 foot pole. Due to their history, you have no way of knowing if they have the rights to the firmware and hardware they're using.
