Thats very nice. I like a lot.

I just took the rear valance off mine.

But did'nt have the balls to cut a perfect rear boot floor out.

So now i'm left with an ugly battery box and spare wheel well rear view.

But that's a very neat solution. I might have a re-think?

Si

I drill holes in everything..!

Sorry to dig up an old thread but iv just stumbled across it.

Paul, that looks awesome.

I want to get a rectangular ally tank - and can just imagine it going with that! Trouble is I havnt got a hope in hell reproducing what youve done there.

I would have to get a proper metal bloke to do it - am i right in saying that the aluminium goes right up to the wheel arches? And where it angles off towards the bulkhead - is this ally as too? And how did you make the grooves???

Trouble is, if it took you 40 hours to make these then they would cost be an arm and a leg!

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

Yes the aluminium goes right to the arches and front to back.
I used a male and female former to create the grooves (very awkwardly)

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

We can punch them at work. I think we have a 10mm wide x approx 5mm deep form.

Mine are 1 inch wide to match the original swages in the rear bulkhead

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Have recently acquired a roll press specifically for this job, struggle with it though as it tries to curl the sheet up.

That is the problem I had with my first attempt, so I formed these by hand with a former I made

I seriously doubt it!

If you access to a flypress, could make a tool from mdf or something as its for ally.
