Well after a lot of messing around, I have managed to move the race car into the main work shop and then due to an unexpected job on one of the customer’s racer it had to go back out. But it will be firmly back in next week till after the New Year. On other fronts good progress has been made.

The bottom end of the short motor has been assembled and sent to be line bored, the block off set bored something like sprockets idea where the bores have been lined up with the K heads combustion chambers.

The spec of the project has changed a tad this week I will let the pic do the typing…

This is very much in the mock up stages and final position has not been set in stone.

EDIT:

The Car has the Migla style weber box the large one that goes right across the front of the bulkhead so no space issues with the turbos

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

*laughing* It sure is bleve it or not I think my camra has played tricks as the back of the turbo is only 300mm from the back of the block which leaves it just inside the front edge of my weber box I have an MPI subframe tho which helps a little.

Would you not be better flipping the turbo in the right of the picture and clocking it so that both the exhausts exited in the middle. Just thinking about making the down pipes & boost pipes.

Makes alot of sense Rob but it then puts the two turbos at different hights what I wanted to do was point the two inlets at each other and use a large T to a filter but again turbos at different hights I may still change the design of the second pipe to alow this I just have not decided

Thanks one and all for the positive comments I was hesitant to put a build thread on this,

I would like to add this is not just a case of slapping two turbots on and seeing what happens I have spent a good 13 hours crunching numbers on this. However I am not going for ultimate HP or Torque her If I wanted that I would have gone down the one big turbo rote we know that works and a large number of people have tried it. I am building a 16V racing engine which is a lot different to a drag car in that this car will slow to almost stop, in the corner and then need to accelerate! Smoothly! With as little turbo lag as possible smooth is the key here keeping turbine speeds high and boost constant it is an experiment and we will see what happens? We will never make an omelette with out first braking an egg.

I'm sorry but I must be missing something. How can you have even pulses with a 1,2,4,3 firing order and with 1,2 and 3,4 paired together? Wouldn't you need to pair 1,4 and 2,3 or have a different firing order to get even pulses?
