he has a hotmail address, no feedback, selling several different engines with the same pictures, and google has never heard of Vale Mini and Motorsports.

Anyone buying stuff from this guy without an explanation of what the fuck he is doing, needs their head looking at.

The guy might be totaly genuine, and im sure he just cant see whats wrong with what he is doing.

Didn't a name like Vale Mini come up not long ago on TMF to do with an export to the USA of a Mini advertised as rust free but arrived full of rust (yes the rust was free!).

There's too much speculation in this thread. As Colin say's could be B.S. (seems likely) or it could just be poor listings. Eitherway, I've mailed him posing as a buyer:

But,
The engine 5 posts up is the same description as the "turbo" one but with photos removed and one new sentence added.
The addresses of "both" sellers in eBay is actually Evesham (half way between Gloucester and Birmingham).
The dialling code of the phone number in one listing is the Evesham area.
A google on the phone number brings up links to sales on TMF (stating ask for Dave or Nigel of Vale Minis).
It also brings up Badsey and Aldington Parish Council !!!! (Badsey is just outside Evesham).

It could just be poor listings with the photos but the sale of a V5 is both illegal and against eBay rules but he tried it twice......
EBay rules also state that whilst you can have more than one account as a seller, you must not use multiple accounts to avoid policy breaches.

So it will be interesting to see what response you get.

Iv no experience with his engines, but i have tried dealing with him before and ill never be doing it again!!!

I wonder if he knows you can't get full sets of piston rings for standard turbo pistons without getting them made specifically....

i don't see the problem, times are hard and the blokes just advertising any way he can.

Its vale minis from evesham, its where i bought my 1963 '850' from, the ones thats 1100cc, I'm not disputing the quality of the work but the car is getting a complete spanner check after i removed the steering wheel nut by hand...

2, Times are hard and we will sell anything we can however we can, we all have mouths to feed and bills to pay.
3, We never knowingly advertise or sell anything that we shouldn't or wrongly described.
4, If anyone has a problem with anything we do, get in touch.......no point moaning unless you give us a call or call in, can't do anything if you don't help yourself.

This is an old thread. All I was originally trying to do was ensure that no-one got ripped off as Turbo engines fetch a premium, and the item was not a turbo engine. I think the thread got out of hand.

so are you vale minis, and was the original add yours?

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

The A85 part is what identifies it as a turbo engine. Other codes that I know of are C16 and D26.
