Ok Ok. i admit it, i once owned one, the dull as ditchwater apricot colour with the mandatory brown vinyl roof with the equally shit brown velour interior,

i once came back to it sand i had a flat tyre on the rear but i couldn't get the jack under the thing so i tried heaving up the car by using the rear arch as a lifting point,
mistake ,a large piece of it came off in my hand, lol.

Mine was also apricot with brown velour interior with a rear arm rest. I dreamed of a vinyl roof.

I only had it to take to uni as I didn't want to take the mini. I was looking for a triumph acclaim or a Skoda Rapide, but then the allegro came up for the right price.

I wanted to take the lotus off the road for the winter. I was trawling ebay for something cheap and then noticed I could have a porsche for £400.

One thing lead to another and this one was really good apart from the shit paint scheme.....hmmm the worst porsche ever in the worst colour ever..........

My plan was to run it over winter, paint it and sell it, but in reality I was embarrassed 2 mins after picking it up whilst filling up with petrol.
Whilst it does everything you would want a car to do, it doesn't do anything quite as well as you would hope a porsche to do.


Plus I was 24 and 11 months at the time and I'd promised myself a porsche by the time I was 25

Just to clear things up, I don't like it either.

But as it is ugly, unusual and got an A-series, it could do for a very good sleeper (in my mind, sleepers should be ugly and unusual).

Old picture.Allegros desperatly need some bigger wheels to fill those arches.These are SAAB 900 pre or post 88is.Can not remember exactly but they changed pattern about then. Those tyres are 195/50/15.

Pretty shure 1100 Allegros got 4.35 final drive.
