I was thinking about adding two Y pieces; one at the heater take-off and one on the bottom hose.
Joining-up one of either connections so continuous flow along cylinder 4 and one for the heater.

I suppose heater performance will not be optimal however as it won't be driven in the winter I don't mind.

In my mind this would work as a kind of by-pass without having a by-pass hose or sandwich plate.
Or am I talking complete rubbish..?
