I run a Plating shop in Surrey and work on other peoples car in my spare time including Land Rovers and Triumph Stags now as well as mini's. Have two of my own as well so rarely with out a spanner in my hand somewhere. Don't race the mini enough or drive the road one but they don't cost a lot to keep. I go and see Richard Thompson when he is playing and collect his back catalog when it comes up on ebay (most of which is out of press). Just got married so am trying to keep her in doors happy by working on the house. I enjoy cooking and can be quite the domestic god when required. 2 cats, lots of fish, bit of an audiofile and about to build a sauna.

I'm a graphic designer / illustrator for a large publisher. Do a right range if stuff from web design to page layouts for English teaching books to Illustaions for Penguin book covers.

Other than the mini, I like being outdoors, drinking ale and rum, have a few odd self motivated projects that are nothing to do with cars, play guitar and cook.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

I am a Civil Engineer and like to pretend I built everything when really I just tell other people what to do.
I'm currently just building the tram extensions in Nottingham.

I am a fabricator for a company which makes various control dampers for various applications from blast dampers on BP's oil rigs to AHU's for Harrods. Get to use some pretty cool things, lasers, folders, rollers, benders, mills and stuff. Comes in handy for the mini!

Formally Retired

Rural Suffolk

Mechanical Engineer and I used to work in nuclear power generation - I took early retirement (an opportunity I couldn't afford to miss...) but before I "retired" I ran the In-Service Inspection Program at Sizewell B which meant I primarily dealt with NDT, welding, contract management and training/mentoring others. Quite boring really, too much paperwork to justify everything I did...

Hobbies - anything mechanical (obviously) but also electronics and computing and, more recently, foreign travel.....

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I initially wanted to get into art/graphic design but ended up doing a degree in Human anatomy followed by a PhD in ophthalmology. After a few years doing research into diabetes I now work to a company developing medical diagnostic equipment. I like playing with cars, both 1:1 scale and 1:10 RC but don't seem to be bothered doing much else these days.

I also work for Ford, research and development though rather than production.

I work in an emissions laboratory so measuring hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide etc, responsible for a large amount of the fuel consumption figures you find today. On the rare occasion there are some non-Ford vehicles, but get to see the formula ford/touring cars etc if I fancy!

I build engines for Motorsport. Worked for Subaru World Rally Team for 12 years building engines and event support on rallies and i have been at Cosworth since Subaru pulled out building the V8 F1 engines. Only left with One team now and no engines to build for next year means I need a job at the end of the year. So if anyone knows of one going let me know. Cheers.

Hobbies wise. I'm to cycling not that I get enough time for it now with my little twins taking up all my spare time.

Luke- have a look into the new Bicester aerodrome development in progress. They're having 70 odd units being built especially for restoring vintage motors and air craft. Could be some interesting jobs going there!
