I know. Trying to resist buying more machine tools until I have rebuilt my garage. So far I have £0 towards the garage rebuild fund, so that may not be next week... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Little point in me buying any decent machine tools with my fists of ham and the fact im a feckless idiot, all it would result in is reducing perfectly usable items into piles of swarf/filings! On 18th Oct, 2013 apbellamy said:

That is what happens to every amateur with a lathe and mill. but practice makes perfect.

Don't forget that the lathe and mill are just the start, you'll then spend pile upon pile of cash on tooling, clamps, chucks, machine vices, vee blocks, etcetera to enable you to do anything vaguely useful with your newly acquired machines.

Yes, but you dont need to buy them all at once - and it is surprising how much you can do with ingenuity, rather than just spending money. |
