If someone wants to quieten down the drops, settin up an oil spray onto the gear flanks about 30-50mm before the mesh will quiet it down noticably. Don't direct the spray into the mesh however. On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

I forgot that Ive diverted the oil releif vailve out of the end on the block rather than straight down, so my drops should be getting more oil.

I have the med rollers bearing drops and have been good for several years. I did change the roller bearing last year as a precaution. As for noise I can't really comment as my car is noisy anyway!

I am on 10" wheels with a 3.1 CWP. vid of my mini at mitp a few year ago, minispares ( non rollerbearing idle) 23+30+23 2 inch straight pipe exhaust too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLIo4ctYkl0 i was also told the 23 tooth gear is supposed to be the strongest ( and also so i could easily slap a 24tooth primary if i needed too tweek the fd) my mini on the road with a single 2.5 inch silencer the noise from the gears above 4k was enough to completely drowned out the engine and exhaust s/c whine is soooo nice ![]() Edited by Brett on 14th Aug, 2013. Not managed to find the thread but a basic setup would be an adjustable oil pressure regulator with the adjuster replaced with some air equip hose appropriately located for the desired end result. Inspired thinking Edited by Mr Joshua on 15th Aug, 2013. Own the day

I cant find pics of mine, but essentially I just bunged the drain hole that goes downwards from the oil relief valve and redrilled it from the side, its literally a peice of piss to do, if you wanted you could put a 90 degree fitting (non restrictive!!) just to roughly point it toward the gears, but I didnt.
