I purchased one for one of my customers as the tig set is hardly used but they can't afford to not have it on standby the customers get very upset if their booking is affected by a break down.

they used to have a cylinder rented from Airproducts who got rather upset when i rang them to return the cylinder im sure the rental on that cylinder was more expensive to rent than the Boc price you pay. Plus with the albee there is no messing about with account numbers.

i get my cylinders from PWP in Bedford and http://www.waspsupplies.com/albee-rent-fre...-gases-84-c.asp seem to list the prices on their website.

I also like the fact that there is no external regulator needed they always look so vunerable to damage.

Interesting....

I've just looked up the prices for those nearest to me who display the prices online and the L11 size cylinder - which is pretty much the same size as a BOC "x" size - are about £150 initial purchase and £40 for subsequent exchanges.

They do a smaller cylinder (just under half the size) which is presumably cheaper, but no-one near me keeps that one.

I can't find my latest BOC price list but I've just been direct debited for my yearly rental at £109, BUT, that is for a BOC "Y" size (twice the capacity) and BOC don't list their prices online so I'll have to have a hunt around for the list they send me every year, or ring them up to make a real comparison.

The albee and others are still cheaper if you keep the bottle 5+ years

just sign up an account on here (just incase they didn’t ask me for a username but they

might)

Okay... This is still going. I just got off the phone from them (21 Jan 2013)

The deal is for the Y size (20L) cylinder and it's ArgoLite MIG welding gas.

The rental is £35.80 per year.

Refills are £24.52 (+1.92 enviroment charge).

These prices are PLUS VAT @ 20%

There is NO handling fee.

I phoned 0800 587 5868 which is their sales line. I said:

"Hi, I'm a member of Volkszone and I hear you have a welding gas offer"..

They knew exactly what I meant and put me through to accounts to set it up. They

took all my details over the phone, did a quick credit check and I'm now waiting for the

email to come through so I can print off, sign and send back. Then they will give me an

account number so I can collect my gas.

You can pay direct debit, monthly or annually.

You can pay when you collect the gas.

Within 15 minutes, I have had the email, scanned and returned it and they called me

back with my account number ready to take to my BOC stockists.

All done in an hour

I have my cylinder based on the offer that Wolfie quoted. It's ended now, but I'm still getting the discount.
