Aren't KAD calipers the same as the Metro 4pot pad? If so, the Carbon metallic pads are fantastic.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

Not sure V, i havent compared them yet.

Yeah i didnt think an overally flash pad would be needed for hillclimbing but thought i would ask.

I have those on the Miglia. Not driven it yet.

Are they going to need warming up to be of any use?

The carbon metallics get my vote too, expensive and they produce a bit of dust but they work superb even from cold.

i have mintex c-tech (i think they're 1144) in my mini on s-disks & they are great, had ebc greens & they were utter cack!

i dont think standard pads are too bad on s-disks in all honesty!!!! they grab well!!!!!

my ebc experiance allowed me to write-off my 1.8 metro!!!! they're can & ebc are on a winner the way they advetise them!!!!i'd have felt good lobbing them through ebc's window if i know where ebc were?

mintex & minispares seem good pads AT THE MOMENT

SKYLINES ARE LIKE CLITS, EVERY FLANGE SEEMS TO HAVE ONE: see this sticker on my silvia

the Search-section on this forum is blummin superb & simple to use, unlike some other forums, without the search-section & the help of this bunch of chaps on here i'll never be able to !!!Start the day with a 998cc turbo!!! :) i'm getting closer though!

Interesting thread.I used EBC Greenstuff on 8.4,s and 4 pots and tried very hard to get to like them. I have now chucked them and use a set of pads from a local motor factor -no idea what they are,but lots better than the EBC.Contrariwise,I have used EBC HH rated pads in all my bikes and even on the track they are excellent, fade free and even last well.
I have never been impressed with my present brake setup and would like a set of pads that give instant grip and progressive stopping -I dont care how quickly they wear or how much dust they produce - what is your recommendation, please?

id always recomend ferodo or mintex!!!

my mate nathan with his v8 mini has had to do very harsh braking fomr speeds of up to 140mph and hes neva experienced brake fade

the only thing that used to happen was the pedal went spongy where the brake fluid was crappy comma stuff lol

but we replaced it with top quality castrol synthetic type and he never gets a spongy pedal

having read all the posts all i can make out is that to be absolutley sure you get a good pad the the carbon metalic ones seem to be the choice all the others seem hit and miss.
do they not last verry long tho?

I'm looking for new pads for the miglia for KAD vented 4 pots.

Does anyone know if they are a standard pad? as KAD seem a bit pricy for 1144's or the like, i.e. £100ish a set!

Its purely for hillclimbing so not wanting anything too hard as i'm guessing its hard to get heat into them quickly?

I used the stock pads from KAD for hillclimbing (only once they were crap) I have used 1144's since and they are ace inc a couple of lap records.

Yes they are good from cold evolution.

Although they do work better with a little heat in them, but that is not alot realy, maybe I am just deglazing them?

To be honest if you are going to be racing up to the end of the street then so be it.

Opps yes I misread...

They are fine for the road and when spirited driving is exercised they are better!
