I feel your pain Nic - I thought I was going to die on Sunday morning. That certainly was some Saturday evening - possibly the most drunk I've ever been at a Mini event!

The worst thing is, other than Nic, I remember meeting and talking to plenty of other people, but can't remember who!

I don't think I have even been so drunk or hung over in my entire life. It's a good job they don't breathalyze you before allowing you on the strip!

so what was everyones times?

My quickest 1/4 was
60 - 2.594
330 - 6.195
660 - 8.874
MPH1 - 92.99
990 - 11.062
1320 - 13.053
MPH2 - 113.95

my best 60ft of the day was 2.470, and my quickest terminal of 115.47mph.

It's a shame I just couldn't put the bits together. Even if I had, I don't think I could do a 12.6 with my car, I think it's just too heavy.

Just been looking at my data logging. It would apear that I have fuel starvation issues when I'm launching. AFR of 18.4 under boost is not good!!!

When I leave the line my AFR rises at the same rate as my G forces do.

this is even worse when doing my burn out, strange

How this is possible with a fuel swirl pot I don't know? I'll have to investigate my plumbing

love that 60ft dennis, unfortunately after saturday my car seemed to have some issues so the head came off, discovered a few issues,

1) the head gasket looked like it was trying to blow through 2-3.
2) A bent push rod
3) A burnt and crappy valve seat on the 3rd chamber exhaust valve, causing compression issues.

So saturday night conisted of borrowing a load of parts (thanks shane, john haston, pro drag guys) and lapping in a new valve seat, thanks to stu wright. and with mr austin looking on how could it go wrong!

So first run, hearing that ques are very long today, i slipped the boost to 14 psi and 25 shot of gas and ran a 13.9, after that i tried more boost at 18 psi and the thing just seemed to not rev past 5k, so i think i have some problems.

But dennis well done, nic and tom usual suspects in the class and proves how well there cars are preperred and built as there running fast times every year!

top event once again!

My best was 16.382@ 83mph with a 2.544 60ft

My best 60ft was 2.463 but only managed 16.46@82mph on that run.

I don't think that's too bad for a n00b, heavy estate and a bit over 100ponys, opinions?

Photos to follow later.

Jim, i see the same on my datalogs, i put it down to the rate of change of RPM of the engine when greater requires more enrichment. kind of like acceleration enrichment when you stomp the throttle :) greater rate of change of rpm will be directly linked to the g forces :)

i had to turn my boost down a smidge in 3rd gear as it was running lean in 3rd but the same boost was fine in 4th :)

Hats off to Denis, amazing buddy, 700 mile round trip and 11.9 sec 1/4, think you beat me back to Glasgow, I got back to the workshop at 00.40, by the time I got everything unloaded and packed away it was 02.30 when I got home.

It was good to catch up with old faces and meet a few new ones. Amazing times all round, everything just seems to be getting faster and faster, times and terminal speeds are amazing, not just as Minis but would be respectable in any vehicle. Some fantastic efforts by many to get there cars there and then run superb times.

Disappointed with my own times, marginally down on last year although terminal speeds are slighly up. BHP and torque are up on last year but the spread is not as even making it a bit more peaky. Best run was on the Saturday.

60 - 2.383
330 - 6.389
660 - 9.78411
MPH1 - 72.59
990 - 12.636
1320 - 15.21589
MPH2 - 90.17

Comparing with last years slips, I'm about a 1/10th down by 330ft. Think I'll need to look at the gearing and the weight. Winning time in Class B was 14.97 and 2nd place was 14.99. Amazing times.

14.914 sec 1/4 mile @ 91.38mph, NA 1293cc on 1.1/2" SU's (all steel and glass shell)

Sure its not to do with acceleration enrichments? Sounds like you need a load more fuel at that boost when you snap the throttles open

Just had another thought, it could be my flat shift cicking in as I'm on the clutch a bit when doing my burn out???

Could well be Jim, check your settings, we had that with the DON, it wouldn't allow it to rev up sufficiently with the clutch in before launching into a burnout, I can't remember what the flat shift settings were, but I altered them and now all is hunky dory.

Just checked the data logging, and the ign does go back to 0btdc so the flat shift was kicking in. Bollox, easy fix though. I suppose the best way to get around it is to disable the flat shift in first gear??

I can't remember what I did now. I don't think the flat shift can be disabled by gear. I did change something though, and got around it.

could you not put a switch between the clutch switch and the ecu? so you can turn it off to do your burnout and get away from the line, then turn it on before changing gear?
