Mansfield - Notts

I was a wood refinisher, painting/working with interior and exterior timbers. Also restored classic American jukeboxes. The work dried up there so I had no choice but to leave and work at my dads auto factors, but while its quiet at my dads I'm busy sourcing the next jukebox to restore or project. Trying to build up enough business to start my own refinishing/restoration venture.

When I'm not working thou I'll either be at sherwood pines on he trails or out with the rc drift car.

I restore, rebuild and modify classic cars. Mostly Minis although I spent most of last week making a tubular rear chassis for a MK1 Capri and most of Monday designing a cradle to mount a Sierra diff onto it.

If I'm not doing that I tend to fall of trials bikes and build R/C rock crawlers.

You can squeeze in just over 30.000kg (thirty tonnes) of flour.

That is a lot of scones or bread!

Sounds like fun

I'd do that anyway as I do love my spanners

It's bloody good. Fairly similar to a straightforward mechanic, but bigger and occasionally more shit-covered. I get to spend a whole lot more time outside rather than in the workshop too. My missus does wonder how I can spend ten hours a day fixing tractors, then get home and break the tools out again though!

I like working on tractors, eveythings so accesible, if you drop your spanner its at your foot, not wedged somewhere in the engine bay. :)

Great read!

I'm an Engineer/Auditor, approving the design/build of trains - usually freight wagons but dabble with locomotives and passenger stock too. Gets me out and about - usually the UK but occasionally Europe & Far East.

Hobbies; beyond the Mini, Man United season ticket takes up a fair few weekends, some mountain and road biking, running, and gurning in the gym. Plus just enough DIY to keep the wife happy. Kids due imminently so those hobbies could well change...
