Just wondering I have read that the mini sport 6 pot 8.4 inch caliper is the same as the one used on 7.9" disks.

Does this mean that you can use the later caliper on a 7.9" disk? and will the 7.9" disk fit underneath 10" wheels or would I need to go to 7.4"

when i drove a 10" wheeled Mini last it felt insane !

In the garage......again!!

The 8.4 4 pot caliper is only for 12inch wheels, you need 7.5 4 pot calipers and cooper disc setup for tens

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

dont think 6 pots fit under 10's.

minisport's 4 pots fit under 10" wheels and upwards and i believe they use the same calliper for the different disc sizes.

std 8.4" callipers cannot be made to fit.

few options (all 4 pots abr the cooper s), minispares, KAD, minisport, cooper S for 10" wheels.

pretty much what you like for 12" upwards

minisport 6 pot caliper??

i thought they only did 4 pots.

the KAD 6pot caliper is used on 7-5,7.9, 8.3 and 8.4" discs, and any other size that you can be bothered to machine the disc's to...

standard 4 pots and 8.4" vented disks can be made to fit under 10" wheels! turn the disc down to 7.7" and move the caliper in and remount. i have done it and it does work. what you cant do is fit standard 2pot calipers. you can even use the solid disc as long as you use the 4pot caliper with out the spacer in the middle

You might as well run drum brakes on the front.

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

Sorry Paul, but I'm going to have to disagree with you there, I've got Fiesta brakes on my Mini and they are more than up to the job in my opinion.

I have mini sport alloy 4 pots using 7.5 discs and my 10inch GB alloys fit over them but standard 10 inch steel rims catch on the calipers which i found when i tried to move my mini which resulted in me scouring the edges of my new gold calipers!!

I can't tell the difference between my old 8.4" brakes & my fiesta conversion.

I'm sure others will offer differing opinions.

If you work out the ratio of piston sizes and the pad areas you should find that if anything the fiesta conversion gives you more than a 7.5" S set-up and nearly that of the 8.4.

If your worried about stopping power you might as well throw the 10" wheels away as there are no decent tyres for them in a real world everyday situation so if you do get mega brakes you'll just keep locking the brakes and sliding into things!!!

IF you need top brakes then use 4 pots on 8.4" discs under 13" wheels with Conti Contact Sports on (or the Bridgstone tyre if you can find them).

For 10" wheels I'd do the fiesta conversion personally.

On my car I am going to be running around 9.5" discs and 4 pots (car only going to see dry milage where sticky tyres can work)

Every day is a school day ...........

How fast and how expensive ...... the same question...
