The ECU in the Metro Turbo just limited the boost to 4psi up to 4500rpm, after that the boost is raised to 7psi. This was to help the longevity of the gearbox.

i was thinking of using the mirage manifolds, if i use these with a t2 + actuator and a bleed valve, would i be able to run without the ecu?

is it advisable to run without an ecu? Short answer , yes it can be done. Plenty of people on this site run with no electronics ...search.... Long answer, what do you mean by ecu? as lizard said the "ecu" on the metty limited the boost to 4psi at lower revs, it had a 4psi actuator and at higher revs the "ecu" fooled it into allowing 7psi by fluttering the vacuum to it, thats all it did. If you fit a T2 with an 8psi (or whatever) actuator it will work at 8psi all the time. If you are asking about some kind of ignition boost retard "ecu" e.g megajolt, then again the metty didn't have one so you can go without.
