So I picked up my mini and found the turbo and manifold that i had upstairs in my garage. I'm hoping some of you guys out there can help with out with where its from. I am guessing that i will also have to install a box in the firewall before i can set it up. The engine is a 1360, with stage II head? Also i took the carb of the motor, the code on it says:
getting back into minis, cause people with big cars are just compensating for something... |

yes you can rebuild it and run it on the car with no turbo ,but the needle and spring wont be likely to be right for a nat asp engine ,so you may find it best to stick in the spring and needle from a nat asp engine for the moment . I think that the carb pictured above is a HIF38.

What's involved with boost-proofing an SU? I'm wondering as turbo HIF's are rare around these parts... A few seals here and there? Are there any key differences between the NA and turbo version apart from that? |

iv seen it work to blow through a normal hif carb , but you do get a little leakage from the spindle , it wasnt anything to worry about though , prob depends on how worn they are . Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM |

The turbo is definately Metro turbo, the carb looks like a standard non-turbo item.

You seem to be missing the oil feed pipe from the turbo not a problem as you will no doubt be fitting the braded hose upgrade ki. Also the the acctuator seems to be missing the pressure feed pipe that supplies the controling force for the waste gate.
