im converting a spi car to turbo.i know i need to change the dizzy. was wondering what is the best to go for? i have seen race, or rally ones for sale. which with a lucas sports coil would be best suited to turbo aplication?

this is my 1st turbo build. im completely rebuilding the car, and all componets. its costing me a fortune just to get basics right. mj is out of my budget. also converting from spi is an electrical headache, so i want to keep things as staright forward as possible.

many thanks

A turbo dizzy has a lot less mech advance and a lot more vac advance than a normal dizzy. This is to limit the advance curve when on boost. have a search around and the part numbers are in here, plus some other ideas.

As to turbocharging a spi.. I think most people would say that carbs are easiest to deal with but I dont know much about injection and its problems. Again have a look around the injection part of the forum.

OK

well yes, turbo dizzy is the best thing aside from the MJ or other types of electronics that offer boost retard. coil etc is not so important though sports/high output would help.
