Right have been thinking of turbo/supercharging my little 998.
With the superchargers what bits will you need to supercharge your engine. I know that the cooper head will be a wise investment and an eaton m45 charger will also be a good start but what about other bits?
For instane will you be able to buy the pulley separate and what will you need?
Do you need an intercooler?
Is there anything else I have missed?
How reliable are these for a daily driver, or is it a bit hit and miss until you get the set up right?
In what state will you need the rest of your engine to be i.e. crank, rad, ignition, carb,
Will I need to change the carb? Currently I am running an SU.
Will the standard cam and gearbox agree with the charger as well?

You will need a custom pulley for a M45 on a 998. The ones offered with the kits would create too much boost on the 998.

You would be better off with an intercooler. You can get 15-20% more power for the same boost. But then you need to use a blow-through system and a bypass valve arrangement.

The reliability will be dependant on you right foot. If you want the engine and gearbox to survive spirited driving then you will need to uprate the components as you would with a turbo.

You would be best using an HIF44 carb. Use the turbo one if you use blow-through.

I'm running a kit from Aus and a toyota charger at 7psi. which is a fair ammount of upgrade from 33 at the wheels to 61 only at 4500 (I didn't want it rev'd much more that that). I would gess it would make about 100 at the fly if rev'd harder.
When I spoke to Jonspeed about thier Eaton kit they run the 998 kit at 12PSI. Having done mine I think it would be a bit much on a 998 IMO.

Will be at Himley if you want a look.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!
