True, but i does not stop this being a top peice of kit.
If you have the budget, class. On anything else, other than an all out build, id say it was overkill.

The backlash is whatever you set it at depending on where you fit the idler bracket. I cant remember atm what it should be set to

Noisier the better as far as Im concerned. lol

I keep wondering if there's less friction than a chain and if there is, does it outweigh the extra bit of weight of the gear drive.

More weight to caryy around and more to spin up too i would had thought compard to a chain, what about belt drive on nice light weight alloy pullies

The complete assy would still be heavier than the chain arrangement I have. I just wonder if there would be less friction with the cogs than a chain and outweigh the weight

hmm, I think if you set the backlash correctly the driven losses should be less - something you'd have to measure - may be worth a little bit - for the price though not as much as giving the two inner cylinders more spark than the outer two though Paul.lol!

Thats something Im looking at aswell John, thinking no counterbalance on the crank too, I have a massive list, just no budget
