I was watching this for Axel with the intention of bidding:

Saul Bellow - "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep."
Stephen Hawking - "The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."

You can't have too many 12G295 heads. Particularly when they have not been skimmed much like that one.

The old man has had Moggy Minors for as long as i can remember. I found a 12g295 standard, unmolested head in the shed a couple months ago - one to keep hold of i think! I'm told there may be one or two more hidden away also....:)

i bid/won £120 for a nos casting about 3 years ago, was still in its wax paper wrapping, that was a bargain

funnily enough, its got a flat back (manifold face) whereas all the other 295s ive seen have the flange shaped rear?

Joey, I have had 295s with both manifold faces. It does seem strange to have two different castings for the same head though. Does anybody know if there are any other differences?

Did you still want those pistons? Swap?

If you skim it, you will incur the wrath of Axel.

Not very sunny swanage

Many years ago, when i was first getting into minis, i found one of these in the cupboard at home (my old man has always been into A35's so had loads of crap laying around that fitted!!) and took it upon myself to practice how much of the head you could cut before you hit the water chamber, I found the limits, then sectioned it on a power hacksaw........... my old man was pretty pissed when he found out that i took THAT head....... didnt really understand what it was at the time........i think he's just about forgiven me!!!

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!
