Bit of a strange question but you always get straight answers on here :)

Im gonna be putting my notice into work tomorrow and i have a months notice, if i put my notice in tomorrow the 14th, does it mean i finish on the 14th next month or is it 4 weeks?

Been 7 years since ive changed company so cant remember the score! :)

if your salaried i'd assume if you put your notice in on 14th, your last day will be 13th

I'm assuming a month is literatly a calender month....could mean 4 weeks though.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

i used to be paid monthly but my notice was 4 weeks. To be honest they are usually flexible. Agree a start date with the new place then work from there. I went to work for a competitor so even got the 4 weeks at home paid *happy*

I have previously given four weeks notice, but I was asked which day I wanted to leave at the end of those four weeks. The four weeks is to give your employer the time to organise the paperwork, not litterally terminate your employment exactly one month after you hand your notice in. However, some employers do, while others might ask you to go earlier, but if they do, make sure they will pay you the full month, unless it doesn't put you out of pocket.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
