COuld it be that they've measured he total rim width, which would be about 7'' given the width of the outer lip on each side...

Revolution did indead make wide cast wheels way back in the 70s , even up to 9" wide if im not mistaken,

they were cast as a result of the late Alan Staniforth pestering the owner of Mambo wheels [Chris Spink] in to making a wider wheel to suit the terrapin race cars he used to make /run way back,

and those wheels certainly have a wide tyre but don't look to under wheeled .
