I had one for three years, the saloon not the estate. It was great. Although when you jack them up you can't open the doors.

Also it won't have a square steering wheel, only the very early ones had them and this is a series 3. Oh err I know too much....

Only £107 to insure TPF&T...

I wonder if a T3 would fit in with no bulkhead modifications, it would make an interesting alternative to a Metro Turbo Van :)

EDIT - the insurance quote I got was obviously for it in standard form.

My friend has a 1750cc allegro which is the same but normal booted version on the cream one.
He finally passed his test at 26 went to insure it and it was £1700 or similar!!!!!!!!!

But my £107 quote (from compare the market.com which took two minutes to obtain as he shows the registration number in the eBay photos) is because of my advancing years and 35+ years NCB.

Getting cheap insurance however, is probably the only advantage of getting older...... *oh well*

If I recall correct you should be able to get the turbo in without modifying the bulkhead

Except the Allegro actually contains more shit!

Sadly the idea of one with 150bhp is very apealing to me.

The Allegro ranks alongside the Metro:

Take the engine out and get rid.

The thing about the Allegro is that it had some good points in the day, but also a few shit points. It's the shit bits that people remember.

But all the more reason to use it as a sleeper.
