I have some basic questions I'm hoping you experienced chaps can help me with.
I Classic Trial a 1953 Buckler MK5 http://www.bucklercars.com/
The plan is to fit a low blow supercharger to the Ford 100e sidevalve engine to give us a bit more power .
Back in the day Shorrocks claimed you could double the power of a standard 1172 sidevalve by fitting one of their kits , utilizing their type C75 supercharger in a suck through set up.
I am looking at fitting an Eaton 45 in a blow through set up .
The thinking is that the Eaton 45 gives approx. same output as the Shorrocks 45cu ins/rev or 750cc/rev
The sidevalve is bored to +60 giving a little over 1200cc , with 7:1 compression ratio .
I have a manifold that takes an 1 1/4 SU , so naturally the Metro turbo carb springs to mind .
questions are : -
Is it possible to bleed off boost [ pre carb ] in a controlled way so that I can get the boost up at lower revs and then hold it relatively constant through the rev range , rather than a general dump system
What are the metro Turbo carbs like for tuning for different capacity engines
cheers
Carl
