Does look interesting, wonder how much the initial cost of those is going to be though if they do get produced, i can see it being a bit steep, as with any new tech on the market.

Very interesting!

I had a google around and came across an intended price of $600 each

I cant help thinking theres a bit of a safty issue though, if they are hot enugh to ignite a cylinder, then they'll probably hapilly cut through stuff, imagine getting the focus wrong in your ecu map and cuting a hole through your pistons, or even bore! LOL

Incidently, I have had my megasquirt comunicating with the laptop over 500m of fibre optic.

Syvecs ecu communicates directly via LAN. Some people have even tuned from abroad via WiFi !!

But the spark plug thing sounds cool

Haha, I went straight on to read that after the spark plug article as well!

This would be quite a substantial change in the automotive industry if they became mainstream though; strike off spark plugs from regular service intervals!
