what do u guys reckon to a straight cut box and straight cut gears for 300 sheets? Done now needs redoing lol |

got some pics the guy says he doesnt know much about it, it was fitted to his 1275 while he was at uni done less than 10 tho. Drops look good and chunky. Il put the pic on in the morning Done now needs redoing lol |

If it's been student owned and probably not had oil changes I'd get close ups of the gears, look for pitting on the teeth. Probably add £150 for basic rebuild bits as it may well need stuff like baulk rings and some bearings plus the right size thrust washers to put it all back together (don't forget you also have to pay carriage to get bits to you once you've measured up for them, unless you have lots of spares). Then you have a good idea where you are at.

A 2nd hand SC gearbox is rarely worth anything at all. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

Once you've replaced the primary gear bush, mainshaft and the laygear + shaft, the price would be near indentical.
