I'm having a cull of all the projects I'll never finish....

H reg so only the SPI version but still the 16V engine.

I ran it for a while, previously welded up on the inner sills/floorpan for an MOT by the garage that MOT'd it (so not done very well) and then decided I'd do it properly.....

But, as usual, I never finished it......

Mainly sound, outer sills need replacing and they are not the normal ones because the GTi has pegs on them for the side skirts.

I'll probably just weigh it in, local scrappy has just paid £150 for next doors Subaru (failed cambelt), but if anyone is interested in a 16V K series before I scrap it, please say so soon.

Which engine size is it? I'll put a link on the metro owners club for you.

Cheers Andy,

It's just the basic 1.4 K series 16V (SPI) GTi injection. Not sure if the GTi is any better than the GTa (I seem to remember the GTa was only 8V but I can't be certain).

About 120k mileage IIRC.

The only work I did on it when I got it was change the cambelt and fit new tyres to the front but I wiped them out in the year I ran it before the MOT expired....

It was quite fun for N/A :)

Would you consider breaking it Rod?

Chap on MOC says:

"Ask what colour is it. And also tell him to strip out the Dials, seats and door cards, spoiler + caps, front bumper, side skirts, ARBs as they all sell on MP or ebay well."

Andy, Thanks - it's red (flame red I think but I'd need to check the code).

I presume that question is based on the value of the colour coded plastic bits ???

Oneeye - I have considered breaking it, maybe I'll consider again in light of Andy's answer, but the problem around here is the (very few) scrappies we have will only collect and pay reasonable cash for complete cars. They obviously want the good bits mentioned above to sell on themselves.

If I strip the good bits, I have the hassle of dealing with the rest.

i dont think your local scrappies are paying good money, £150 for a scooby, i got £200 for my old mk3 astra and they weigh less than a scooby. you'll probably make more breaking it, if £150 for your neighbours car then i bet you wont get much more than £100 for a metro.

one day boost will be mine!

PM me a price you're looking for. I'm after a GTI to go with my GTI rep to restore. I can also collect reasonably quick.
