Hi guys what BHP would you estimate for a 1380 turbo 11cc powermax, morspeed super squish head 27cc chambers, Kent kc500 or MG metro cam, hoping to run around 15psi with intercooler, straight cut box
And therefore what clutch would you recommend, Pre verto..
Thanks

what turbo?

should see 140 hp+ with a good intercooler.

I would not recomend a preverto for a turbo lump anymore unless its a race car where you need somthing really light. the way forward is to pull a pair of verto's apart and stack the springs two deep, you get a better feeling clutch with much more torque capacity, and longer life from the crank thrusts, also it'll be self adjusting.

its possible to get away with a Preverto orange plate at that kind of power, and a grey or double grey will definatly hold that power, but personally I dont like them, as on the pre verto you get all the force of the clutch springs pressing on the crank thrusts, which is about 900lb for an orange pressure plate and over a ton for the grey and double grey...

on the verto set up you get approx 1/3rd of the clutch spring pressure on the crank thrusts.... for a verto with two springs this is around the same as a std pre verto, a much better situation.

for the verto's you can get light steel outers, there is a cast one from mini spares, or an even lighter billet one from MED, the MED one will get you down to about the same as a pretty light aftermarket preverto, but there are the ultra light bilit pre verto's from swiftune, MED, SH etc whouch are too light for the road IMO.

You won't look so hard when your pushing the car back onto the trailer and going home early because the clutch has destroyed the crank thrusts *hehe!*

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

If it were me, where possible (and it is possible) i'd rather fix the problem rather than the symptom *wink*
