Hi, does anyone know of a web site you can design and request custom steel cutouts? I need a mounting plate for an internal pedal box and don't really want to do it by hand.

Thanks Mark

I'd say your best bet would be to design it yourself and go to a local machining shop

Photoshop, CAD or just ms paint with dimensions haha!

The option you've chosen may be considerably more expensive!

Yeah, really needs to be laser or water cut though to get a decent finish. I'm happy to design it, was really after a uk version of something like this http://www.emachineshop.com/

Use Emachineshop software to design your part and then export the format into DXF or IGS or STL files that any decent machinist shoud be able to make your part from. Emachineshop software wis easy enough to learn quickly and you can and do get good results.

The DXF in 2D for a simple part cut from plate should be all that is needed in reality, you just then tell them how thick you want it cut.

Lazer cutting has a rougher edge finish than water jet, and water jet is preffered over lazer when cutting aluminium or copper.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

If you can do a decent drawing, contact Ralph at www.componentengineering.co.uk

He can waterjet or laser as required and is always very helpful. He'll just post it off when done.

Are you after something to be laser cut?

I have the facilities to have things cut and folded depending on what it is you are after.

Drop me a PM if you fancy

Just noticed this post! Yep, can get laser cutting done. Generally materials up to 6mm. We do thicker, but generally means a lot of waiting.

No probs MarkGTT. Can do Aluminium (5251 grade), Stainless Steel (304 grade) and mild steel. Other grades I have to see what's about.

Sorry Tomm, didn't see your post there. What kind of work do you do? Anything I'm unable to do I could pass to you.
